I've been suffering a bit lately from lack of sewing stitcheries. Most of my projects on the go have a lot of applique detail or hand quilting. To have a bit of a break I've made these two little needlecases using a free pattern from Cinderberry Stitches. I have used some of the new Minny Muu fabric on these, along with some of my standard spots, and on the blue needlecase is my first go at using variegated thread.
They close up like this (back view), and open up to have a felted area for needles and a pocket along the bottom for bits and pieces. Very cute and these are off to join the "gift ready" pile of finished projects. Now, ready to ice the birthday cake for Matt!

Those are gorgeous - love the cheeky spiky bug!
they are sooo gorgeous Rachel! love love love the stitching!!
I love to have stitchery projects for when I am not in the mood to sit in front of the sewing machine. They are also great for TiVo watching.
I keep seeing the Minny Mu fabric and I think that I will need to get some.
Thanks for sharing!
gorgeous! I love the thread!
They look lovely! I seem to have got out of the habit of stitching lately ending up sock knitting instead. Although this evening I'm so exhausted from being at the allotment all weekend that I don't think I'll have the energy to do any crafting at all!!!
Glad to see you got some time to do some little stitchery projects!! Hope everything else is going really well. :)
Really cute! I love the picture...
Ohh lovely and I do like that varigated thread. It gives a real zing to the embroidery. Well done.
What cute little needlecases. I love using the varigated thread.
Very cute! I like them, you did a wonderful job on them!
They are utterly gorgeous! x
Those are so sweet as well as practical. I have a friend who is doing "Polka Dot Girls" all in a varigated red thread and it looks really good.
I just popped in to say hi as we are on the same Christmas in July swap. Isn't it fun!
Hi Rachael, i have just found your blog and love all your goodies. Can you tell me, the picture of your unpicking pile, the large bag that's standing up, did you design this yourself, or is it a pattern? I'm looking to make a new large bag and this looks perfect. You have inspired me to finish some projects. take care, Kerry.
